If you’re like me, you love to sing. Especially at church. It’s the one place where I can just open up and cut loose. I know that God loves to hear my “joyful noise”.
However, I very much dislike being asked to name my one all-time favorite song. There are so many. So, how about picking five? That would be doable.
How about you? If you could choose the “sing list” for this Sunday, what five songs would you choose? Which ones really help you express your adoration and gratefulness for God’s grace?

- Magnificat- When our congregation sings this song accapella, Mary’s beautiful expression of adoration is unbelievably beautiful. The four parts work together to magnify the Lord.
- Master the Billows are Raging – This is an older hymn that tells a story, and ebbs and flows with emotion.
- It is Well With My Soul- The well known classic that I rarely get through without breaking down in tears. Thankfully, my brothers and sisters pick up the slack.
- Gratitude- A contemporary gem by Brandon Lake. “All that I have is a hallelujah.” So expressive. So real.
- Just a Little Talk with Jesus- a classic that is just fun to sing. The Statler Brothers helped make this one popular.
I could go on all day. Worship is the highlight of my week. I hope you will join me this Lord’s day from your local church.
