One, simple purple flower. It seems so simple, basic. But, in my eyes, it is a reflection of God’s glory. My back yard is graced with a small bed full of irises these days. Each year, I look forward to their emergence, and try to relish and enjoy each day they stay around. That period of warm but not too humid weather never seems to last long enough. These particular flowers bloom from rhizomes I have tended, dug up and replanted periodically, and seem to be living their best life in the rich soil and morning sunshine of my narrow back yard. I will not be entering any contests sponsored by the iris society, but I happen to think they would compete with the best if I wanted to make the effort.
Lately, my journey as an author has entered a new phase. Four years ago, my first fiction title, Hope Takes the Reins was published by Scrivenings Press. Now, my personal bookshelf contains three full-length, two novellas and two self-published non-fiction titles. The life I dreamed of as a child is everything I dreamed of, and nothing I could have expected.
In the what’s next phase, I am concentrating again on that first book in my series. Hope Caldwell and O.D. Billings seem very real, and a part of my family now. I am doing what I can to introduce them to new readers, new friends. If you have never read that first book, please check it out at this link:

Now through my birthday, July 7, I am running a Buy One Get One free offer. If you purchase a copy of Hope Takes the Reins in either paperback or Kindle version, or read it through Kindle Unlimited, send me a message and you will be entered in the drawing to receive a copy of one of my other books free!
The irises in my back yard remind me of my childhood, my mom and my mother-in-law, who loved them as much as I do. They also represent how unique, how beautiful, how rich our heavenly Father’s love is for us. That’s what my books are all about. Hope, Faith, Love that can only be found through a relationship with Jesus.
I’d love to hear what you think, about irises, about my books, about Jesus! Comment here or send me a message via Facebook. Meanwhile, look around for evidence of God’s glory in your life. Trust me, it’s everywhere.
