Psalm 78: 67-72 “Moreover He refused the tabernacle of Joseph, and chose not the tribe of Ephraim; But chose the tribe of Judah, the mount Zion, which He loved. And He built His sanctuary like high palaces, like the earth which He hath established for ever.He chose David also His servant, and took him from the sheepfolds; From following the ewes great with young he brought him to feed Jacob his people, and Israel his inheritance. So he fed them according to the integrity of his heart; and guided them by the skillfulness of his hands.”
Remember that David is the writer of this Psalm. He is recognizing that after God had seemed absent, after He had poured out His wrath on Israel, He chose David. David, who saw himself as undeserving, as a humble shepherd. He recognizes that the talents he had were what God had been looking for.
So why would God choose us? Because He sees something in us that we don’t stop to recognize. All of us have a place in God’s plan. Whether it’s touching others through our daily walk, or embarking on a great mission. We are not all destined to be kings, but we are all His. Today, seek His word (Matthew 6:33), Wait patiently as He renews your strength(Isaiah 40:31). Walk humbly from His sanctuary and use your talents for His good (Micah 6:8).
