A fundamental truth about Jesus that I believe is that He was both the son of the Almighty God, and a human. I love reading about His life, and getting glimpses from scripture of what the man, the human side was like. In many places in the Gospel accounts of His mission on earth, He seems to crave His alone times. In Mark, Chapter 6, verse 45-46, He even sent His disciples away. “And straightaway, He constrained His disciples to get into the ship, and to go to the other side before unto Bethsaida, while He sent away the people. And when He had sent them away, He departed into a mountain to pray.” KJV
This little mention comes between two very famous stories, feeding the 5,000 with five loaves and two fishes, and the time when He walked on the water. His work involved others, and He knew His time here on earth was short. So He went about His Father’s business. But in between, He longed for those times that He could be alone, to commune with the One who had sent Him.
I totally identify, and treasure those precious moments. As the week progresses, grab those fleeting times, and be thankful. Jesus understands.
