Okay, it’s the middle of January. All of our Christmas decorations should be safely stored until next year. Well, at least until my second favorite season, Christmas in July. But, how can we continue that joyful mood, the spirit of celebration prompted by angels singing in the heavens? Easy. We can leave some lights on. Even better, we can Be the Light. Jesus refers to Himself as the light of the world. John 9: 5. “As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world.” KJV. As He advises us in Matthew, Chapter 5, verse 16, “Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.” KJV.
Every year, God places a word on my heart to prompt more study and inspire my writing. This year, the word will be Sanctuary. The first step to becoming a proper sanctuary for Him is to be sure that there is plenty of light. The festive decorations may be packed away for now, but the Light still shines. Ready to walk into 2020 with me? “For you were sometimes darkness, but now are you light in the Lord; walk as children of light.” Ephesians 5:8 KJV.
